Hello,I'm Maurizio Perron and I live in Jouvenceaux near Sauze d'Oulx. I live 5 month a year with the snow,I started to ski when I was a child and I tried the snowboard on the 1995. I started with a "hard" and when I tried the "soft" I decide that my board should be very hard. My first board was a Head (wintersurf style) veeeery large and short. The second was an asymmetric Hooger Booger and I understood that I was Goofy. The third was an X-Level symmetric and whith "her" I learn to "flex".
The turning point comes in the winter of 1998:seeing that fantastic Tropical Tube long,narrow and unreachable I thought if someone can made them I can do it myself.But I didn't have plastic or special material,so I start with the material that I know and I work better: the wood. In that winter born my fist board with this width :24-20-24.Mading this board I made a big mistake,I used a pine so too soft for my 70 kilos. I should be honest: this is still unused and dusty.
The next summer between a work an an other I made the first Frassignol. This board is completely in ash wood,long 185 cm. and width 21-16-21. On this board I putted also a plate of 15 mm. I tried this board the 15 february 1998 and I felt immediatly the hardness of the wood and this what I was looking for. Iused this board for all the season 1998-99 and 1999-00. At the first some ski instructor seeing me and thinking that I was crazy said:"Iraelly want to see you on thi board"Now they would like to try them . The next year I made a very extreme board: 196 cm. of lenght and 16-12-16 cm.of widht. This board is fantastic on the ice , but the only problem is that in a slepo of 1km.you can do 2 or 3 turns,so is a bit dangerous. In the season 2000-01 borns the top of the Frassignol collection: the Wood Cup 186.The wood cup is,at the moment the best board ever made by myself:lengh of 186 cm. and width of 21-15-21. But also this board has a problem,the base is completely in wood,so is not very quick.
But for the next season some important news are coming so you have just to wait trustful.
