In 2018 Icehotel selcetd us, my dutch collegue Mariolein Vonk and I, to design and create the great Mainhall and Reception.
We decided to focuse our research on the absurd use and abuse of plastic in the modern age. The Oceans are full of plastic trash, and we have not really idea how to figure to clean it up.
Imagine if all the plastic nets would be made out of Ice and Snow like our new creation? That woudl be amazing….after few months back to the sea and not visible…and ready to be used for the next project!
